The Seattle Mariners defeated the floundering Baltimore Orioles by a score of
7 to 4 at SAFECO Field.

Seattle came through with the game-winning runs in the bottom of the 8th
inning scoring 3 runs utilizing 5 base hits. After an out was recorded,
Willie Bloomquist got things going when he stroked a single. Jeremy Reed
came next and he singled. Wladimir Balentien then laced a base-hit. Lance
Cormier then let a pitch get away from him. Jamie Burke stepped into the box
and slapped a single. Burke took second on the throw. Ichiro Suzuki
continued the rally and lashed a single. Dennis Sarfate then unleashed a
wild pitch. Baltimore was out-hit by Seattle, 13 hits to 5.

The winning pitcher was Erik Bedard(2-1) who allowed 4 runs in 8 innings. Ryan
Rowland-Smith got the save, his 2nd. The loss was charged to Brian Bass(0-2)
in relief. He was knocked around, surrendering 3 runs in 2 and 1/3 innings.

Alexei Ramirez rocketed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Chicago (AL) Whitesox
topped the reeling Baltimore Orioles by a score of 6 to 3 at Camden
Yards.

Ramirez had a big day at the plate. He blasted a two-run home run in the 3rd
inning and delivered a solo blast (his 6th of the season) in the 7th inning.
Matt Thornton earned the save with a perfect ninth, his 3rd save.

Gavin Floyd(2-1) allowed 3 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Garrett Olson(0-3) was hit with the loss. He gave up 4 runs and 4

Left fielder Carlos Quentin cracked 2 homeruns as the Chicago (AL) Whitesox
defeated the ice-cold Baltimore Orioles by the score of 9 to 3 at US Cellular
Field.

Baltimore was unable to claim the lead after Chicago (AL) went ahead in the
bottom of the 4th inning when they scored 2 runs on 3 hits. The big moment
was provided by Orlando Cabrera who excited the crowd when he lined a single
bringing in two baserunners. Chicago (AL) had 13 hits for the afternoon
while Baltimore had 7.

The win went to D.J. Carrasco(2-0) who allowed no runs in 2 and 2/3 innings.
Octavio Dotel gained credit for his 2nd save. Daniel Cabrera(2-1) was tagged
with the loss.

The Chicago (AL) ballclub's record now stands at 13-11. Dave Trembley was
unhappy with his club's recent performance. 'We can't keep losing games' he
said. 'It gets to be embarrassing after a while.'

Chad Bradford(3-0) was called upon to do the job and he was the winning

made the Tampa Bay fans a happy lot when he belted a three-run homer (his 5th

Kauffman Stadium in a hard fought contest.

The score was knotted at 1 after nine innings. Minnesota came out on top in
the 11th inning. After two outs Delmon Young stroked a single. Ramon
Ramirez then let loose a wild pitch. Brian Buscher then singled. Buscher
took second on the throw. Minnesota banged out 8 hits on the afternoon.

Craig Breslow(3-1) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the win. Breslow got
help from Joe Nathan who was credited with his 9th save. Ramirez(2-2) was

fought contest.

David Purcey(1-0) delivered a fine performance for Toronto. He surrendered 6
hits and 2 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings. Purcey whiffed an impressive total of
7 Boston batters and gave up 2 homeruns. Purcey got relief help from B.J.

Lester(3-1) finally bested his Toronto opposite, A.J. Burnett(0-4), by the

Seattle Mariners won a dramatic crowd-pleaser over Oakland A's at SAFECO Field
pulling it out in their last at bats, 2 to 1.

Seattle won the game with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning. Jose Lopez
delivered a solo blast (his 3rd of the season) making Seattle the victor and
beginning a joyous home town celebration. The game was a scoreless duel
until the 6th inning.
