Texas never recovered after Cleveland took the lead in the bottom of the 3rd
inning scoring 2 runners on 2 hits. That scoring would be all that was
needed. Cleveland out-hit Texas for the game, 12 hits to 7.

Anthony Reyes*(1-1) got the win allowing no runs in 6 innings. Reyes* got
relief help from Rafael Perez who gained credit for his 5th save. Vicente
Padilla(3-4) was the losing pitcher. He got hit hard, allowing 9 hits and 4

Left fielder Marlon Byrd touched them all and had 2 RBI at Ameriquest Field as
the Texas Rangers pulled off a dramatic comeback beating the Cleveland
Indians by the count of 6 to 5.

Texas came through with the game-winning runs in the bottom of the 9th inning
with 2 runs using 2 hits. Milton Bradley led off the inning for Texas when
he doubled which scored a run. Byrd stepped up to the plate and he reached
on an error scoring the final run of the inning. The game was a wild affair
with the lead changing hands 5 times.

Frank Francisco(2-2) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and
allowing 1 run. Jensen Lewis(0-1) was given the loss in relief. He allowed
Texas 3 runs in 2 innings of work.

Adam Lind rocketed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Toronto Bluejays topped the

Lind enjoyed a fine day at the plate. He popped a two-run clout over the
fence in the 1st inning and hit a bases-empty home run (his 6th of the
season) in the 3rd inning. Offensively, Toronto was a juggernaut. They

(AL) Yankees.

New York (AL) set the tone of the game in the first inning when they scored 2
runs on 2 hits. The highlight belonged to Jason Giambi who silenced the
crowd when he doubled bringing in two baserunners. Despite losing, Toronto
out-hit New York (AL) 12 to 9.

The win went to Andy Pettitte(5-2) who allowed 1 run in 7 and 1/3 innings.
A.J. Burnett(2-6) was tagged with the loss. He allowed New York (AL) 6 runs

Mike Napoli left the yard and John Lackey delivered 9 solid innings at
Ameriquest Field where the blistering-hot Los Angeles(AL) Angels beat the
Texas Rangers 8 to 1.

Los Angeles(AL) took the lead off Dustin Nippert in the first inning scoring 3
runs using 2 hits. Chone Figgins led off and he was hit by a pitch. Erick
Aybar followed and he laid down a sacrifice bunt. Mark Teixeira then was
walked intentionally. Vladimir Guerrero was up next and he lost the ball
over the fence for three runs (his 9th of the season). Napoli was a
strikeout victim, unable to help out. Torii Hunter continued the rally and
smacked a single. That was all Lackey(4-1) needed. Los Angeles(AL) had a

In a dramatic ending at Metrodome the Minnesota Twins won in their last at-bat
beating the Detroit Tigers by the count of 3 to 2.

The deciding run was scored by Minnesota in the bottom of the 9th. Brian
Buscher drew a walk. Nick Punto next to the plate and he slapped a single.
Carlos Gomez then reached on an error giving Minnesota the victory and
sending the 24,487 home-town fans home happy. Minnesota had 9 hits overall,

the Minnesota Twins by the slimmest of margins, 2 to 1.

The game was won by Detroit with a run in the top of the 9th inning. Magglio
Ordonez doubled. After an out was recorded, Gary Sheffield stepped in and he
tripled. Marcus Thames then drew a walk. Detroit finished with 8 hits in
the victory.

The win was credited to Bobby Seay(1-1) who went 1 inning allowing no runs.
Todd Jones gained credit for his 2nd save. Jesse Crain(2-1) was the loser in
relief.

Jamey Carroll had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Cleveland Indians defeated the
New York (AL) Yankees by a score of 4 to 1 at Yankee Stadium.

Cleveland had the game winning rally in the top of the 9th inning scoring 3
runs on 4 hits. After an out was recorded, Jhonny Peralta got things going
when he delivered a one-base hit. Ben Francisco stepped into the batter's
box and he popped a two-run clout over the fence (his 2nd of the season).
Franklin Gutierrez then delivered a single. Asdrubal Cabrera was the next
batter, but he struck out. Carroll came to the plate and tripled. Shin-Soo
Choo got his turn next, but he was a strikeout victim. The teams had been
locked in a scoreless duel until the 7th inning.
