The New York (AL) Yankees nipped the Baltimore Orioles 5 to 4 at Yankee
Stadium in a hard fought contest.

In the bottom of the 6th inning New York (AL) scored 3 runs with the help of 4
hits. The biggest moment was provided by Alex Rodriguez who made the New
York (AL) fans a happy lot when he cracked a two-run shot. Baltimore
threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.

Alfredo Aceves(1-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 2/3 of an inning.
Aceves got relief help from Mariano Rivera who gained credit for his 2nd
save. Danys Baez(0-1) was the loser in relief. He was unable to retire a
batter and surrendered 1 hit and 1 walk.

'You have to give Baltimore credit, they fought us tough to the end' George
Nasser said. 'It could have gone either way, but I'm glad we pulled out the
victory.'
