The Kansas City Royals put 4 runs on the scoreboard in the 8th inning and
easily topped the Minnesota Twins; the final score was 11 to 6.

Kansas City jumped on top to stay in the bottom of the 4th inning when they
scored 3 runs on 4 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Miguel Olivo who
elicited a roar from the hometown fans when he clubbed a three-run home run.
Minnesota was not lacking for run support as they scored in 5 separate
innings, yet victory eluded them as they seemed to forget that pitching is
also needed to win ballgames.

Kyle Davies(3-1) went 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 4 runs for the win. Davies
got relief help from Robinson Tejeda who gained credit for his 1st save.
Nick Blackburn(2-4) was the losing pitcher. Kansas City knocked him around a
bit, as he gave up 6 runs in 3 and 2/3 innings.

With this win, Kansas City has a 13-13 record. They have been 6-4 lately.
With the loss, the Minnesota ballclub's record is 14-18.
