Adam Dunn smacked 3 homeruns and had 7 RBI as the Washington Nationals
outscored the Florida Marlins 14 to 6.

Dunn was unconscious all day. The Florida fans hated to see him approaching
the batter's box as he just kept delivering base hits! He cracked a two-run
shot in the 2nd inning, doubled which scored a run in the 3rd inning,
delivered a solo blast in the 8th inning and smacked a three-run homer in the
9th inning. Washington dominated offensively as they scored in 6 different
innings.

The victory went to Craig Stammen(2-2) who went 7 innings, allowing 4 runs.
Chris Volstad(1-1) was the losing pitcher. His ERA ballooned from 4.00 to
10.03 as he allowed 9 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings.

'It's almost like the ball was trying to hit my bat,' Dunn said. 'Whenever I
would swing, the ball found the sweet spot.'
