trouble at Miller Park downing the Milwaukee Brewers. The score was 7 to

Matt Holliday was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a
fine day at their team's expense. He doubled which plated a run in the 1st
inning, laced a single in the 7th inning and smashed a two-run homer in the
9th inning. St. Louis out-hit Milwaukee for the game, 12 hits to 7.

Jaime Garcia(4-2) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 and 2/3 innings and
allowing 2 runs. Ryan Franklin gained credit for his 6th save. Chris
Narveson(2-4) ended up with the loss. He gave up 4 runs in 2 innings of
work.

First baseman Prince Fielder blasted 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Milwaukee
Brewers outscored the St. Louis Cardinals in 10 innings 4 to 2.

Both teams were tied at 2 runs apiece after nine innings. Milwaukee came out
the victor in the 10th inning. Lorenzo Cain opened up the inning nicely when
he ripped a base-knock. Fielder came to the plate and cracked a two-run shot
resulting in a mighty exciting win for Milwaukee and the 22,449 home town
fans in attendance. Milwaukee had a total of 11 hits for the game.

Center fielder Colby Rasmus smacked 2 homeruns as the St. Louis Cardinals won
a dandy at Busch Stadium over the Milwaukee Brewers, 10 to 9.

The game was decided in the bottom of the 9th inning. Rasmus blasted a solo
shot giving St. Louis the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy.
This was the kind of game that many fans love as the lead changed hands 6
times.

Jason Motte(1-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 1 inning. Carlos
Villanueva(2-2) was the losing pitcher in relief. 'I didn't feel that good
when I came to the park today,' Rasmus said. 'I'm glad I decided to play!'

Aaron Miles had 3 base hits and 2 RBI as the St. Louis Cardinals staged a
dramatic comeback over the Milwaukee Brewers by a score of 4 to 3 at Busch
Stadium.

St. Louis had the winning rally in the 9th inning scoring 3 runs on 3 base
hits. Tyler Greene led off and he delivered a single. Carlos Villanueva
then threw a wild pitch. Villanueva then let one slip out of his hand for a
wild pitch. Randy Winn was up next and he would ground out. Felipe Lopez
stepped into the box and drew a walk. Albert Pujols added to the outburst
and drew a walk. Colby Rasmus was next and he delivered a base-hit to load
the bases. Miles then lined a one-base hit. St. Louis ended up with 11 hits
for the game while Milwaukee had 7.

The win went to Kyle McClellan(1-0) who allowed 1 run in 2 innings. Trevor
Hoffman(0-1) was given the loss in relief. Tony LaRussa was ebullient after
the game, 'It's great to win a hard fought game like that. Our guys just
weren't going to be denied. And did you see the fans - they were going wild!
Yes sir, a very enjoyable win this afternoon!'

snapped a 5 game losing streak and topped the Colorado Rockies by the
slimmest of margins, 3 to 2.

The game was deadlocked at 2 after nine full innings. Finally, Chicago (NL)
prevailed in the 10th inning. Geovany Soto lined a base-hit. Sam Fuld next
to the plate and he drew a walk. Tyler Colvin was a strikeout victim, unable
to help out. Kosuke Fukudome came up and he drew a walk to load the bases.
Starlin Castro stepped into the box and slapped a single giving Chicago (NL)
the victory and sending the 32,572 home-town fans home happy. Colorado had 8
hits in the game while Chicago (NL) had 4, but Chicago (NL) had the more
timely hits.

Casey Coleman(1-0) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Rafael
Betancourt(0-1) was hit with the loss in relief. He allowed 1 hit and no
walks in 1 inning.

23,423 fans watched an exciting game at Coors Field. The San Francisco Giants
topped the Colorado Rockies by the slimmest of margins, 8 to 7.

Colorado lost it in the 4th inning when San Francisco did all their damage as
they creamed Colorado blasting them with 8 runs on 5 hits. The key at-bat
was by Pablo Sandoval who silenced the crowd when he doubled bringing in two
baserunners. San Francisco won despite being out-hit by Colorado 16 hits to
7.

The win was credited to Brian Wilson(3-2) who went 2 innings allowing no runs.
Jorge De La Rosa(2-2) was tagged with the loss. He allowed San Francisco 7
runs in 3 and 1/3 innings of work.

Adam Wainwright struck out 10 batters as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the San
Diego Padres by a score of 4 to 1.

Wainwright(5-3) had a strong outing. He surrendered only 7 hits and 1 walk in
9 innings dropping his ERA from 2.80 to 2.54. Both teams ended up with 7
hits on the afternoon.

Kevin Correia(0-2) absorbed the loss. Wainwright was pleased with his
performance. He noted, 'I had good zip on my pitches. Just as important, my
location was right on. The fans really got into the game too - that always
helps me. Now, if I can only do that again in my next outing.'

Tony Gwynn Jr had 2 base hits and Wade Leblanc delivered 8 and two third solid
innings as the San Diego Padres bested the Colorado Rockies 1 to 0 at Petco
Park.

San Diego set the tone of the game in the first inning plating an isolated run
utilizing 2 base hits. That early scoring was all that Leblanc(5-0) needed.
Colorado tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.

Heath Bell recorded the save, his 10th. Aaron Cook(4-2) was the loser. It
was a tough loss for him as he did not allow an earned run in his 5 innings

Buster Posey had 2 base hits as the San Francisco Giants rallied impressively
to win in dramatic style over Arizona ballclub, 5 to 4.

San Francisco came up with the deciding runs in the bottom of the 9th inning
plating 3 runs using 2 hits. Freddy Sanchez led off and started the attack
as he drew a walk. Aubrey Huff was a strikeout victim, unable to help out.
Posey then smacked a single. Pat Burrell stepped in and he lofted a
three-run bomb making San Francisco the victors to the delight of the home
town faithful. Arizona had 12 hits in the game while San Francisco had 8,
but San Francisco had the more timely hits.

The victory went to Santiago Casilla(2-1) who went 1 inning, allowing no runs.
Juan Gutierrez(0-1) was given the loss in relief. 'We just wouldn't give
up,' Posey said. 'Much of the credit goes to our fans - they were with us the
whole way.'
