Center fielder Josh Hamilton had 4 hits and 3 RBI at Rangers Ballpark as the
streaking Texas Rangers, running on all cylinders, ripped the ice-cold
Chicago (AL) Whitesox by a large 16 to 5 margin.

Hamilton helped send the fans home happy. He doubled which plated a run in
the 1st inning, ripped a single in the 2nd inning, lined a one-base hit
bringing in two baserunners in the 6th inning and ripped a base-knock in the
7th inning. Texas bats were very productive in the 6th inning which saw them
score 7 runs on 7 hits. Texas finished with 22 hits while Chicago (AL) ended
up with 9.

The win was credited to C.J. Wilson(5-2) who went 7 innings allowing 5 runs.
Mark Buehrle(3-5) took the loss. Texas knocked him around a bit, as he gave
up 7 runs in 2 innings.

Colby Lewis(2-2) delivered a fine performance for Texas. He allowed 3 hits

Alex Rodriguez had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the New York (AL) Yankees defeated
the Boston Redsox by a score of 4 to 3 at Yankee Stadium.

Boston fell behind quickly as the New York (AL) offense came through in the
first inning when they tallied 2 runs on 2 hits. The key at-bat was by Mark
Teixeira who came through for the home fans when he popped a two-run clout

Designated hitter Vladimir Guerrero had 4 hits at McAfee Coliseum as the Texas
Rangers beat the Oakland A's 6 to 5.

Oakland was unable to climb back into it after Texas went ahead for good in
the 3rd inning scoring one runner on 2 base hits. Max Ramirez blasted a solo
shot. Ian Kinsler stepped into the batter's box and he doubled. Michael
Young followed, but he was set down on strikes. Neftali Feliz pitched a
perfect ninth and was credited with his 7th save.

Cliff Lee(5-0) went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 5 runs for the victory. Dallas
Braden(1-3) absorbed the loss. 'I always am most impressed when a pitcher
finds a way to win even without his best stuff,' Chris Centorcelli said after
the game. 'Lee did not have command of his pitches most of the afternoon,
but he proved he really knew how to pitch!'
