the loss in relief. He allowed 3 hits and no walks in 2 and 1/3 innings.

Brad Mills was all smiles after the game, 'To pull a game out in your last at
bats, is a beautiful feeling - and did you see how quiet it got out there?
You could have heard a pin drop when we took the lead. But, hey, that's what
makes baseball so great - as the great sage Yogi Berra says, 'it's not over
'til its over.'

In a two run game the Detroit Tigers got by the Toronto Bluejays by the score
of 8 to 6.

Toronto was unable to recover after Detroit went ahead in the top of the 5th
inning as they scored 3 runs on 2 base hits. The big moment was provided by
Brandon Inge who quieted the crowd when he cleared the fences for a two-run
home run. Toronto scored in 5 different innings, but their shaky pitching
kept them from victory.

The win went to Doug Fister(1-0) who allowed 6 runs in 7 innings. Jose
Valverde earned the save, his 1st. Marc Rzepczynski(0-1) was the losing
pitcher in relief.

'I just wanted to give my team a chance to win.' said Fister, 'I got burned on
a couple of pitches. But we won the game, and that's all that matters.'
