in a long time,' said Baker. 'I had good command early in the game. I had my

Scott Sizemore went yard and had 3 RBI at O.co Coliseum where the Oakland A's
beat the Minnesota Twins in 10 innings 5 to 3.
 
The game was deadlocked at 3 after nine full innings.  Oakland came out on top
in the 10th inning.  After an out was recorded, Josh Willingham started the
attack as he doubled.  Sizemore stepped into the batter's box and he blasted
a two-run home run making Oakland the victor and beginning a joyous home town
celebration.  Oakland finished with 11 hits in the victory.  
 
Brad Ziegler(1-0) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the win. Matt Capps(0-3)
was the losing pitcher in relief.  He gave up 2 hits and 1 walk in 1 inning.

one-run game at Tropicana Field.  The final score was the Tampa Bay Rays 4,
the New York (AL) Yankees 3.
 
The game was decided in the 8th inning.  Evan Longoria cracked a solo homerun.
Matt Joyce dug into the batters box next, but he struck out.  B.J. Upton
struck out, unable to help the rally.  Johnny Damon followed next and he
slapped a one-base hit.  The game was a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.
 
The winning pitcher was Joel Peralta(2-0) who allowed 1 run in 2 innings. Luis
Ayala(0-1) was the loser in relief.  Despite the loss, he struckout 4 Tampa
Bay batters in 1 and 2/3 innings.

Matt Joyce hit 2 doubles and James Shields pitched a complete game as the
Tampa Bay Rays bested the New York (AL) Yankees 5 to 2 at Tropicana
Field.
 
Tampa Bay brought 2 runs across the plate in the bottom of the 3rd inning when
they had 3 base hits.  That early run support was enough for Shields(2-2) and
Tampa Bay.  Tampa Bay totaled 12 hits on the afternoon.  
 
C.C. Sabathia(2-3) took the loss.  He was unable to control the Tampa Bay

The game started off with Kansas City taking the lead in the first when they
came up with 3 runs on 4 hits.  The big moment was provided by Mike Moustakas
who made the home-town crowd a happy bunch when he doubled bringing in two
baserunners.  Kansas City managed 10 hits in their victory.  
 
The victory went to Danny Duffy(2-0) who went 6 innings, allowing 3 runs.
Joakim Soria earned his 6th save.  The loss was charged to Bartolo
Colon(2-1).  He allowed 4 runs and 8 hits in 6 innings.

topped the Oakland A's by the slimmest of margins, 3 to 2.
 
Oakland surrendered all of the runs Cleveland needed in the 6th inning when
they scored 3 runs on 2 hits.  The big moment was provided by Jim Thome who
silenced O.co Coliseum as he doubled bringing home two baserunners.  The game
was a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.  
 
Joe Smith(2-0) went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Smith was
helped out by Chris Perez who recorded his 4th save.  Brett Anderson(0-1) was
the losing pitcher.

Park.
 
In the bottom of the 2nd inning Boston scored 3 runs with the help of 3 hits.
That early run support was all that Jon Lester(3-0) required.  Baltimore had
a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.  
 
Lester got help from Jonathan Papelbon who was credited with his 6th save.
Tommy Hunter(0-2) took the loss.  He surrendered 3 runs and 4 hits in 4 and
2/3 innings.

Ervin Santana was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game at Angels Stadium where the Los Angeles(AL) Angels beat the
Houston Astros by the score of 8 to 4.
 
Los Angeles(AL) took the lead for good in the bottom of the 2nd inning plating
2 runs on 2 hits.  After an out was recorded, Vernon Wells got things rolling
when he drew a walk.  Erick Aybar was next and he doubled.  Alberto Callaspo

Charlie Furbush held Oakland to 3 hits as the Seattle Mariners outscored the

In the bottom of the 3rd inning Seattle went on top for good scoring one
runner on 2 base hits.  Mike Carp lined a base-hit.  Two outs later Ichiro
Suzuki came to bat and drew a walk.  Brendan Ryan then ripped a one-base hit.
Dustin Ackley was a strikeout victim, unable to help out.  Seattle finished
with 11 hits in the victory.  
 
Furbush(1-2) lasted until the end allowing 2 runs for the win. Trevor

Suzuki enjoyed a big day at the plate.  He laced a base-knock in the 2nd

hits and 3 walks reducing his ERA from 3.10 to 2.67.  Oakland totaled 9 hits
on the afternoon.  
 
Jason Vargas(1-2) was hit with the loss.  Gonzalez was pleased with his
performance.  He noted, 'I had good zip on my pitches.  Just as important, my
location was right on.  The fans really got into the game too - that always
helps me.  Now, if I can only do that again in my next outing.'

It was a great finish at Camden Yards as the Baltimore Orioles pulled off a
dramatic comeback beating the Boston Redsox by the count of 5 to
4.
 
Baltimore erupted with the game winning runs in the bottom of the 9th inning
with 2 runs using 3 hits.  After an out was recorded, Derrek Lee began the
rally when he doubled.  One out later, Ryan Adams came to bat and delivered a
base-hit.  Adams took second on the throw.  Adam Jones then hit a single.

game.  
 
The win went to Troy Patton(1-0) who allowed no runs in 2 innings. Matt
Albers(0-1) ended up with the loss in relief.  'Wow, that was fun!', Patton
said following the game.  'Once in a while you play a game that reminds you
just why you got into this business to begin with!'
