Second baseman Neil Walker hit 2 doubles at Marlins Park as the Pittsburgh
Pirates staged a comeback win over the Miami Marlins by the count of 7 to
5.

Pittsburgh came up with the deciding runs in the 9th inning with 3 runs
utilizing 3 base hits. After an out was recorded, Alex Presley started the
rally when he slapped a single. Heath Bell then threw one that got by the
catcher for a passed ball. Walker then delivered a one-base hit. Andrew
McCutchen got his turn next, but he was a strikeout victim. Garrett Jones
came to the plate and drew a walk to load the bases. Mike Dunn then uncorked
a wild pitch. Travis Snider followed next and he doubled. Michael McKenry
followed, but he was set down on strikes. Pittsburgh had 8 hits for the game
and Miami had 5.

Joel Hanrahan(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and allowing
2 runs. Chad Qualls earned the save, his 1st. Bell(1-3) was given the loss
in relief.

After the game, it took a long while before Andy Virostek emerged from his
office. In a subdued tone he answered only a couple of questions. He
concluded with, 'Fellows, sorry I'm not in a very talkative mood this
afternoon, as I think you'll understand. I'm sure you'll find the banter a
lot more light-hearted over in the Pittsburgh locker room.'
