Martinez hit 2 doubles and had 2 RBI as the Houston Astros bested the Texas Rangers 5 to 1 at Rangers Ballpark. Peacock(2-1) was simply too much for the Texas batters. He gave up just 4 hits and 2 walks in 8 and 2/3 innings seeing his ERA drop from 5.40 to 4.15. Houston had 8 hits overall, while Texas had 4. Peacock was helped out by Josh Zeid who recorded his 3rd save. Matt Garza(0-1) took the loss. He struck out 10 batters in 7 and 1/3 innings despite losing the game. Peacock, when asked about his 12 strikeout performance noted, 'The important thing is that we won, if I get 20 and we lose, what good does it do our team? But, on the other hand, since we won it feels great!'
