Ronny Paulino slammed a homerun and had 2 RBI as the Florida Marlins defeated
the Atlanta Braves in 10 innings by a score of 5 to 3 at Land Shark
Stadium.

Both teams were tied at 3 runs apiece after nine innings. Florida came out
the victor in the 10th inning. Emilio Bonifacio led off the inning for
Florida when he lined a single. Bonifacio then stole second base. After
another out, Cody Ross was a strikeout victim, unable to help out. Paulino
came up and he smashed a two-run homer resulting in an exciting win for
Florida and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. Atlanta
was out-hit by Florida, 10 hits to 5.

The winning pitcher was Renyel Pinto(1-0) who allowed no runs in 1 inning.
Mike Gonzalez(0-1) was hit with the loss in relief. Florida now has a record
of a division leading 15-7. With this loss, Atlanta has a 4-6 record of
late, 4-6 overall.
