In an entertaining game at Busch Stadium the final score was the St. Louis
Cardinals 6, the Colorado Rockies 3.

St. Louis wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning when they
scored 2 runs on 2 hits. The critical plate appearance was by Matt Holliday
who electrified Busch Stadium when he doubled bringing in two baserunners.
St. Louis totaled 9 hits on the afternoon.

The victory went to Adam Wainwright(1-0) who went 8 and 2/3 innings, allowing
3 runs. Wainwright got relief help from Trever Miller who gained credit for
his 1st save. Jason Hammel(0-1) was the loser. He got hit hard, allowing 9
