In a thriller the Los Angeles(NL) Dodgers staged a dramatic comeback then held
on to win over the St. Louis Cardinals by a score of 6 to 5 at Busch
Stadium.

Los Angeles(NL) won the game with a rally in the top of the 9th inning scoring
2 runs utilizing 3 base hits. After an out was recorded, Tony Gwynn Jr
jump-started the rally as he laced a one-base hit, and an error was also
committed. Casey Blake got his turn next, but he was a strikeout victim.
Dioner Navarro then laced a base-knock, and an error was also committed.
James Loney followed and he hit a single. It was roller coaster of a game as
the lead change hands 5 times.

Josh Lindblom(1-0) allowed no runs in 1 inning, and picked up the victory.
Lindblom got relief help from Javy Guerra who gained credit for his 7th save.
Jason Motte(2-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. He pitched 1 and 2/3
innings and surrendered 3 hits and no walks.

Chris Centorcelli was understandably not very talkative after his team's tough
loss. He quickly showered and changed and when asked about the game had a
terse, yet polite response, 'Hey fellows, that game was a heart-breaker to
lose. Our guys gave it their all and played well - fate just wasn't smilin'
on us this afternoon'
