At Great American Bpk, the Cincinnati fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel.
Johnny Cueto(2-2) finally bested his St. Louis opposite, Adam
Wainwright(4-3), by the score of 2 to 1.

St. Louis was unable to recover after Cincinnati went ahead in the bottom of
the 2nd inning plating one baserunner on 2 hits. St. Louis tried
unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.

Francisco Cordero got the save, his 4th. Wainwright absorbed the loss. He
pitched 6 innings allowing 6 hits and 1 walk. Chris Couch was in a talkative
mood in the clubhouse, 'Great game! If only we could win all of the close
ones - wouldn't that be nice! Since that's not going to happen, I think I'll
savor this one for a little while.'
