Nate McLouth hit a bases-empty home run. Wilson Betemit was next and he drew a walk. Adam Jones then was hit by a pitch. Chris Davis stepped in and he grounded into a double play. Baltimore had just 3 hits for the afternoon. Chen got help from Troy Patton who was credited with his 2nd save. McAllister was the loser. He was stingy with the baserunners, allowing just 2 hits and 1 walk in 5 innings.

Oakland scored the deciding run in the 9th inning. Yoenis Cespedes drew a walk. Moss stepped up next and he doubled giving Oakland the victory and sending the 18,158 home-town fans home happy. Even though they scored in 7 different innings, Minnesota was not able to pull off the win. Grant Balfour(1-1) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 1 inning. Jared Burton(1-2) took the loss in relief. He surrendered 1 run and 1 hit in 2/3 of an inning.
