The Los Angeles(AL) Angels nipped the Oakland A's 4 to 3 at McAfee Coliseum in
a hard fought contest.

Los Angeles(AL) drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first
inning scoring a single run using 4 hits. After an out was recorded, Maicer
Izturis became the sole author of the rally when he cracked a bases-empty
home run. Bobby Abreu followed next and he lined a single. Vladimir
Guerrero then ripped a one-base hit. Torii Hunter came up and he stroked a
base-hit to load the bases. Both teams' bats went to sleep after the 3rd
inning with no runs scored after that point.

The winning pitcher was Joe Saunders(5-2) who allowed 3 runs in 5 innings.
Brian Fuentes earned his 7th save. Vin Mazzaro(0-2) suffered the loss. He
was hit hard and gave up 10 hits and 2 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.

Wth the win Los Angeles(AL) now has a record of 21-11. Lee Michaels was
unhappy with his club's recent performance. 'We can't keep losing games' he
said. 'It gets to be embarrassing after a while.'

Catcher Kurt Suzuki went yard and Gio Gonzalez allowed Lee Michaels to rest
his bullpen, tossing a complete game at McAfee Coliseum where the Oakland A's
beat the Los Angeles(AL) Angels by the score of 9 to 2.

Oakland brought 4 runs across the plate in the 3rd inning with the help of 6
hits. That early scoring held up. Oakland rapped out 16 hits for the
afternoon.

Gonzalez(1-4) got the victory, allowing 2 runs for the game. The losing
pitcher was Ervin Santana(3-3). By giving up 7 runs in 4 innings his ERA
increased from 5.25 to 5.63.

'Ahhh, that victory was surely needed. Man alive, things were getting awfully
grim,' noted Lee Michaels. 'Now, we need to string a bunch of wins together
and turn things around!'

Coliseum.

Kevin Millwood(4-1) delivered a fine performance for Texas. He went 7 and 2/3
innings surrendering 7 hits and 1 walk improving his ERA from 3.51 to 2.70.
Texas banged out 10 hits on the afternoon.

Frank Francisco was credited with his 4th save. Josh Outman(0-2) was hit with

Designated hitter Travis Snider touched them all and had 3 RBI as the Toronto
Bluejays outscored the Tampa Bay Rays 6 to 3.

The Tampa Bay fans didn't appreciate the big day Snider had. He doubled in
the 2nd inning, clubbed a three-run home run in the 4th inning and doubled in
the 6th inning. Toronto had 14 hits for the game and Tampa Bay had 9.

Roy Halladay(3-3) was the winner allowing 3 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings.
Halladay got help from Jason Frasor who was credited with his 3rd save.
James Shields(2-2) was the loser. He got hammered, allowing 12 hits and 3

Third baseman Evan Longoria connected with a 'big fly' and had 2 RBI as the
Tampa Bay Rays defeated the Toronto Bluejays by the score of 4 to 0 at
Tropicana Field.

Toronto never recovered after Tampa Bay took the lead in the 3rd inning when
they came up with 2 runs on 1 hit. That early run support was all that Matt
Garza(3-1) required. Tampa Bay had 8 hits for the afternoon while Toronto
had 5.

Scott Richmond(2-1) was tagged with the loss. He allowed 5 hits and 4 walks
in 6 innings. The Tampa Bay ballclub's record now stands at 10-7. Still in
a bad slump, with this loss, Toronto is 2-8 lately and 6-15, worst in the
division on the year.

a 6 to 5 win over the Seattle Mariners and sending their hometown fans home
smiling.

Cliff Lee had an impressive outing as the Cleveland Indians defeated the
Minnesota Twins by the score of 1 to 0 at Progressive Field.

Cleveland jumped out to the early lead in the first inning scoring a single
run. Jamey Carroll doubled. After an out was recorded, Shin-Soo Choo came
to bat and would ground out. That early scoring held up. Minnesota made it
exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.

Lee(3-2) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 5 innings. Kerry Wood
preserved the game for Lee, recording his his 4th. Scott Baker(3-1) took the
loss. He surrendered only 1 run and 4 hits in 6 and 1/3 innings.
