Nick Blackburn(3-2) and Mike Mussina(2-4) treated the Minnesota fans to a fine
pitching duel at Metrodome. The Minnesota Twins eventually emerged as
victors over the New York (AL) Yankees by the score of 1 to 0.

Minnesota promptly took the lead in their half of the first scoring one runner
using 2 hits. That early scoring was all that Blackburn needed. Joe Nathan,
after tossing a perfect ninth, was credited with his 11th save.

'I had a little blister on my index finger before the game, but I thought it
was nothing.' Blackburn said. 'I was lucky I got a win because I couldn't
put the ball where I wanted it.'
