The Chicago (NL) Cubs defeated the Los Angeles(NL) Dodgers by a score of 11 to
7 at Wrigley Field.

A hugely decisive outburst by Chicago (NL) in the bottom of the 8th inning

Angeles(NL) for 7 runs on 5 hits. The key offensive moment was provided by
Jeromy Burnitz who thrilled the crowd when he doubled plating two runs.
Chicago (NL) and Los Angeles(NL) each finished the afternoon with 10 hits.

Will Ohman(1-0) allowed no runs in 2/3 of an inning, and picked up the
victory. Duaner Sanchez(1-1) was given the loss in relief. He was the victim
of a defensive lapse and did not allow an earned run in the game.
