Catcher Miguel Montero slammed 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI and Ian Kennedy tossed
a fine 3 hitter at Chase Field where the Arizona club beat the Cincinnati
Reds 6 to 1.

Montero enjoyed a great day at the plate. He bombed a two-run dinger in the
1st inning, doubled bringing in two baserunners in the 5th inning and lofted
a solo-blast 'downtown' in the 7th inning. Arizona totaled 7 hits on the
afternoon.

Kennedy(2-2) finished the game allowing 1 run in the victory. Homer
Bailey(1-1) was the losing pitcher. Chris Couch was obviously impressed with
the pitching of Kennedy, 'That guy made us look a little silly out there this
afternoon. We just couldn't get to him at all - everything was working for
him. I just hope that he got that kinda performance out of his system.'
