The Toronto Bluejays registered 4 runs in the 7th inning and toppled the
struggling Tampa Bay ballclub by a 12 to 8 score at Tropicana Field.

Russ Adams provided much of the offense. He doubled in the 1st inning and
quieted the crowd by clouting a Grand Slam (his 1st of the season) in the 7th
inning. Tampa Bay was not lacking for run support as they scored in 6
separate innings, yet victory eluded them as they seemed to forget that
pitching is also needed to win ballgames.

The victory went to Josh Towers(1-0) who went 1 and 1/3 innings, allowing no
runs. Chad Orvella(0-1) absorbed the loss in relief. He allowed 3 hits and 1
walk in 1 and 2/3 innings.

Bay ballclub by the score of 8 to 6 at Rogers Centre.

Lilly offered, 'The fan's really got into it. It is fun to see them tally up
the strikeout totals up there in the stands. Fortunately, I kept them busy
this afternoon - of course, it would be all for naught without the 'W'.'
