Third baseman David Wright hit one over the fence and had 3 RBI at Shea
Stadium as the blistering-hot New York (NL) Mets won in dramatic fashion
coming back to beat the slumping San Francisco Giants by the count of 9 to
8.

New York (NL) won the game with a rally in the bottom of the 9th inning with 3
runs. Mike Jacobs led off and keyed the rally when he drew a walk. After an
out was recorded, Doug Mientkiewicz came up and he drew a walk. One out
later, Cliff Floyd came to the plate and lost the ball over the fence for
three runs (his 3rd of the season) making New York (NL) the victors to the
delight of the home town faithful. New York (NL) banged out 12 on the night.

The win was credited to Roberto Hernandez(2-0) who went 1 inning allowing no
runs. Armando Benitez(0-1) was given the loss in relief. Hernandez and
Wright were really whooping it up in the clubhouse after the great come from
behind victory. As Craig Lombardi noted, 'A win like this one can do wonders
for a team's attitude.' Everyone shares in the joy - the fans, the players -
even you guys - it's better than winning by a dozen runs!'
