In a thriller the St. Louis Cardinals staged a dramatic comeback then held on
to win over the Los Angeles(NL) Dodgers by a score of 4 to 3 at Dodger
Stadium.

St. Louis had the winning rally in the 9th inning scoring 2 runs on 3 hits.
After an out was recorded, Allen Craig started the rally when he smacked a
single. One out later, Skip Schumaker came to the plate and laced a one-base
hit, and an error was also committed. Pete Kozma then doubled. Both teams
finished the game with 8 hits.

help from Jason Motte who was credited with his 3rd save. Javy Guerra(0-1)
was the loser in relief.

Mike Matheny was very happy after the game, 'It's great to come back and win
it in your last at bats! Our guys just wouldn't give up. And did you see the
fans - one minute they're laughing and screaming down all sorts of
unprintable stuff at our guys - the next minute - SILENCE! Yes sir, a very
enjoyable win this afternoon!'
