Alex Rodriguez blasted 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI and Hiroki Kuroda went 9 solid
innings as the New York (AL) Yankees man-handled the Houston Astros - the
final score was 13 to 2.

Rodriguez was unconscious out there. While Houston pitching was serving
softballs up there for him to hit, the Houston fans were serving up some
hardball barbs when he entered the batter's box. But he just used it as fuel
for the fire. He bombed a two-run dinger in the 1st inning, clubbed a
two-run home run in the 6th inning and doubled which brought home a run in
the 9th inning. New York (AL) kept the scorekeepers busy in the 6th inning
when they had 3 runs on 4 hits and the 9th inning which saw them score 3 runs
on 3 hits. New York (AL) kept the pressure on throughout the contest as they
scored in 6 different innings.

Kuroda(2-0) was the winner allowing 2 runs for the game. Bud Norris(0-1) was
charged with the loss. He was knocked around, surrendering 5 runs in 4
innings.

'I thought it was my best performance in a long time,' said Kuroda. 'I had
good command early in the game. I had my control and composure and everything
went well.'

The Los Angeles(AL) Angels nipped the Texas Rangers 6 to 5 at Angel Stadium in
a hard fought contest.

Los Angeles(AL) had 4 runs cross the plate in the 2nd inning when they came up
with 3 base hits. The key at-bat was by Alberto Callaspo who made the crowd
happy when he rifled a three-run blast. Texas tried unsuccessfully to come
back in the 9th.

C.J. Wilson(2-0) got the win allowing 3 runs in 6 innings. Wilson got help
from Ernesto Frieri who earned his 3rd save. Nick Tepesch(0-1) was hit with
the loss. He gave up 6 runs in 5 innings of work.

Chris Centorcelli was clearly disappointed after the game. 'It was a
manager's nightmare out there', he said, 'We should have had this one.'
