Rich Aurilia had 3 base hits and 2 RBI as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the
Washington Nationals 6 to 4 at Great American Bpk.

Cincinnati had 3 runs cross the plate in the 7th inning. The highlight
belonged to Aurilia who brought the crowd to their feet when he banged out a
single scoring two baserunners. Washington threatened in the 9th but their
rally came up short.

Eric Milton(1-0) allowed 3 runs in 7 innings, and picked up the victory. David
Weathers earned his 2nd save. The loss was charged to Jon Rauch(0-1) in
relief.

When questioned about the loss, Lee Michaels said, 'The fans got to see an
exciting game out there this afternoon. Unfortunately, we couldn't get it
done this time. Next time, though, we'll be the clubhouse with all the
smiles.'
