Carlos Beltran had 4 hits and 4 RBI as the New York (NL) Mets defeated the
Philadelphia Phillies in 11 innings 8 to 5 at Citizen's Bank Park.

The game was deadlocked at 5 after nine full innings. New York (NL) came out
the victor in the 11th inning. Mike Jacobs started the inning off right when
he doubled. Jose Reyes followed and he banged out a single. Reyes was safe
on a stolen base. Marlon Anderson followed, but he was set down on strikes.
David Wright came to the plate and would hit into a fielders choice which
scored a run. Cliff Floyd contributed to the rally and lashed a single
plating another run. One out later, Beltran stepped in and he slapped a
one-base hit scoring the final run of the inning. New York (NL) had 17 hits
overall, while Philadelphia had 12.

Roberto Hernandez(3-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 2 innings. Juan
Padilla gained credit for his 3rd save. Ryan Madson(1-2) took the loss in
relief.

This win by New York (NL) continues their recent hot streak. In their last
ten games, they have a record of 8-2. For the season, they are a division
leading 11-3. With the loss, the Philadelphia ballclub's record is 7-9.
