Mike Cameron cracked a homer and had 2 RBI and Pedro Martinez tossed a fine 3
hitter at Shea Stadium as the New York (NL) Mets beat the Atlanta Braves 6 to
1.

New York (NL) took the lead for good in the bottom of the 5th inning scoring a
single run utilizing 3 base hits. New York (NL) finished with 10 hits in the
victory.

Martinez(1-0) was the winner allowing 1 run for the game. Horacio Ramirez(0-1)
absorbed the loss. 'I thought it was my best performance in a long time,'
said Martinez. 'I had good command early in the game. I had my control and
composure and everything went well.'
