Scott Olsen had a strong outing as the Florida Marlins defeated the Cincinnati
Reds by the score of 7 to 0 at Dolphins Stadium.

Cincinnati never recovered after Florida took the lead in the bottom of the
4th inning scoring 3 runners on 1 hit. The key offensive moment was provided
by Luis Gonzalez who elicited a roar from the hometown fans when he lofted a
three-run bomb (his 1st of the season). Florida had 9 hits for the
afternoon.

Olsen(1-0) went the distance for the shutout. Bronson Arroyo(0-1) was given
the loss. He was the victim of a defensive lapse and did not allow an earned
run in the game.

'Olsen pitched a gem of a game', Dave Murray recounted. 'He kept our batters
off balance the entire game.'
