Center fielder Cody Ross blasted 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at Minute Maid Park
as the Florida Marlins beat the Houston Astros by the count of 8 to 3.

Ross was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine day at
their team's expense. He delivered a solo blast in the 2nd inning and popped
a two-run clout over the fence (his 3rd of the season) in the 6th inning.
Florida had 13 hits for the afternoon while Houston had 7.

The victory was credited to Chris Volstad(1-0) who went 5 innings, allowing 2
runs. Roy Oswalt(0-1) was the loser. He served up 3 gopher balls in 7
innings.
