Josh Beckett dominated striking out 11 Los Angeles(AL) batters as the Boston
Redsox bested the Los Angeles(AL) Angels 6 to 2 at Fenway Park.
 
Beckett(1-0) had a strong outing.  He didn't give up much, just 6 hits and 3
walks in 8 innings.  Boston totaled 9 hits on the night.  
 
Ervin Santana(0-1) was the losing pitcher.  He surrended 3 homeruns in his 7
innings.  Everyone seemed to enjoy the performance of Beckett - except Los
Angeles(AL).  John DePanicis lamented, 'He just was 'on' tonight.  He was
keeping our guys off balance all game.  A fine game by a good strikeout
pitcher - makes it a fun game for the hometown fans - unfortunately we were
the visitors!'
