Ryan Lavarnway had 4 hits and 2 RBI at Fenway Park where the Boston Redsox
beat the Cleveland Indians by the score of 6 to 4.
 
Boston brought 2 runs across the plate in the 7th inning with the help of 4
hits.  Lavarnway got things going when he lined a one-base hit.  Stephen Drew
got his chance to keep things going, but he went down on strikes.  Will
Middlebrooks dug into the batters box next, but he struck out.  Jacoby
Ellsbury stepped in and he laced a base-hit.  Mike Carp stepped into the box
and doubled scoring two teammates.  Cleveland tried unsuccessfully to come
back in the 9th.  
 
Ryan Dempster(1-1) went 7 and 1/3 innings allowing 4 runs for the win. Junichi
Tazawa gained credit for his 1st save.  The loss was charged to Chris
Perez(0-1) in relief.  He pitched 1 and 1/3 innings and surrendered 4 hits
and no walks.
