Jered Weaver* reeled off a total of 14 strikeouts as the Los Angeles(AL)
Angels defeated the Minnesota Twins by the score of 4 to 0 at
Metrodome.

Weaver*(1-0) pitched one of his finer games as he simply was too much for the
Minnesota batters. He allowed only 5 hits and 2 walks in 8 and 1/3 innings
improving his ERA from 1.50 to 0.63. The pitchers took over after the 2nd
inning as neither team was able to score again.

Jose Arredondo earned his 1st save. Kevin Slowey(0-2) was tagged with the
loss. He allowed 9 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings. 'He was really impressive
tonight,' Slowey said of his counterpart. 'Our guys were just swinging at
air.'
