Roy Halladay dominated striking out 14 Atlanta batters at Citizen's Bank Park
where the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Atlanta Braves by the score of 5 to
2.

Halladay(1-0) looked very much in control throughout the day. He was stingy
on the mound, allowing just 6 hits and 1 walk in 8 innings. Ryan Madson
pitched a perfect ninth and was credited with his 1st save.

Tim Hudson(0-1) was the loser. John Thomas was asked about the performance of
Halladay, 'He had his good stuff out there this afternoon. The fans really
get into it when the strikeouts start mounting up - and that seems to give
him even more adrenalin.'
