Third baseman Alex Rodriguez left the yard and had 3 RBI as the New York (AL)
Yankees topped the Texas Rangers by a score of 7 to 2 at Yankee
Stadium.

Texas was unable to climb back into it after New York (AL) went ahead for good
in the bottom of the 2nd inning as they scored 3 runs on 4 base hits. The
early run support proved sufficient for Phil Hughes(3-0) and New York (AL).
That was all the run support Hughes required. New York (AL) ended up with 11
hits for the game while Texas had 8.

Joba Chamberlain earned the save, his 1st. Colby Lewis(2-3) absorbed the
loss. He pitched 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 7 hits and 4 walks.
