TEAM RISP- Padres: 6 for 21 Marlins: 4 for 11
WEB GEMS- Top 3rd: Emilio Bonifacio robbed Chase Headley of a Homerun!
Second baseman Logan Forsythe had 4 hits and scored 3 times as the San Diego
Padres came back to win one over Miami Marlins, 8 to 6.
San Diego scored the decisive runs in a big 9th inning when they came up with
4 runs on 4 hits. The key at-bat was by Will Venable who quieted the crowd
when he hit a single scoring two baserunners. San Diego had 15 hits for the
afternoon.
Eric Stults(1-1) allowed no runs in 3 innings, and picked up the victory.
Huston Street preserved the game for Stults, recording his his 2nd save.
Heath Bell(1-2) was charged with the loss in relief. He pitched 1 inning
allowing 3 hits and 1 walk.
Chris Couch was very happy after the game, 'It's great to come back and win it
in your last at bats! Our guys just wouldn't give up. And did you see the
fans - one minute they're laughing and screaming down all sorts of
unprintable stuff at our guys - the next minute - SILENCE! Yes sir, a very
enjoyable win this afternoon!'
