Jose Fernandez struck out 15 batters at Marlins Park as the Miami Marlins beat
the Washington Nationals by the count of 4 to 1.

Fernandez(2-0) was indeed brilliant as he hand-cuffed the Washington offense.
He allowed only 4 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings. Miami finished with 11 hits
in the victory.

Ross Ohlendorf(0-2) was charged with the loss. When asked about his strikeout
total for the game, Fernandez offered, 'The fan's really got into it. It is
fun to see them tally up the strikeout totals up there in the stands.
Fortunately, I kept them busy this afternoon - of course, it would be all for
naught without the 'W'.'
