one-run game at Busch Stadium.  The final score was the Pittsburgh Pirates 3,
the St. Louis Cardinals 2.
 
Francisco Liriano(2-0) pitched a fine game.  He was reached for 4 hits and no
walks in 6 innings.  Liriano recorded 8 strikeouts.  St. Louis went down
without a fight in the bottom of the 9th.  
 
Tony Watson got the save, his 2nd.  Shelby Miller(0-1) was the loser.  He
surrendered 2 runs and 4 hits in 6 innings.
