Center fielder Johnny Damon had 4 hits at Metrodome as the Boston Redsox beat
the Minnesota Twins 4 to 3.

The deciding run was scored by Boston in the top of the 8th. After an out was
recorded, Manny Ramirez ripped a solo home run (his 2nd of the season).
Minnesota had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.

Matt Clement(1-0) was the winner allowing 3 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings. Mike
Timlin earned his 1st save. Johan Santana(1-1) was tagged with the loss.

'You have to give Minnesota credit, they fought us tough to the end' Andy
Virostek said. 'It could have gone either way, but I'm glad we pulled out
the victory.'
