The Cleveland Indians defeated the Oakland A's by a score of 4 to 1 at Jacobs
Field.

Scott Sauerbeck(1-0) slammed the door shut in an excellent relief performance.
No one got on base in his 1/3 of an inning. Although they lost, Oakland did
out-hit Cleveland 11 to 8.

Sauerbeck got help from Fernando Cabrera who was credited with his 1st save.
Barry Zito(2-1) was given the loss. He pitched 6 and 1/3 innings giving up 6
hits and 2 walks.
