WEB GEMS- Bot 7th: Shane Victorino robbed Henry Blanco of a Homerun!

The Philadelphia Phillies nipped the Arizona club 3 to 2 at Chase Field in a
hard fought contest.

In the top of the 4th inning Philadelphia scored 2 runs when they came up with
3 base hits. They would be enough to earn the win. Arizona had a chance to
come back in the 9th but they came up short.

Cole Hamels(1-0) allowed 2 runs in 7 innings, and picked up the victory.
Hamels got help from Antonio Bastardo who was credited with his 1st save.
Josh Collmenter(0-1) took the loss. He was unable to control the
Philadelphia offense and allowed 10 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.

John Thomas was beaming after the game, 'Not only were we making good contact,
but a lot of balls we hit seemed to have 'eyes'! I just love winning these
tight ones! It was just our day - no doubt about it!'
