In a thriller the San Francisco Giants staged a dramatic comeback then held on
to win over the New York (NL) Mets by a score of 4 to 2 at Citi Field.

San Francisco had the winning rally in the 9th inning with 3 runs utilizing 2
base hits. Carlos Beltran led off the inning for San Francisco when he
tripled. Pablo Sandoval was the next batter, but he struck out. Aubrey Huff
then lined a base-hit. Cody Ross was up next and he drew a walk. One out
later, Eli Whiteside came to bat and was walked intentionally to load the
bases. Buster Posey added to the uprising and drew a walk. Andres Torres
was next and he drew a walk. San Francisco had 8 hits for the afternoon.

The winning pitcher was Guillermo Mota(1-0) who allowed no runs in 1 inning.
Brian Wilson recorded the save, his 2nd. The loss was charged to Tim
Byrdak(0-1) in relief.

Lee Michaels was feeling mighty fine as he answered questions in his office
after the game, 'Now that was one fine ending! Did you see how the crowd just
sat there in silence after the winning run scored? Here we are celebrating
wildly, and the stadium is cloaked in virtual silence. Weird. but GREAT!'
