Howie Kendrick smacked a grand slam at Angel Stadium where the Los Angeles(AL)
Angels beat the Houston Astros in 13 innings 7 to 6.
 
The game was deadlocked at 5 after nine full innings.  Finally, Los
Angeles(AL) prevailed in the 13th inning.  Mark Trumbo led off and started
the rally when he doubled.  Kole Calhoun followed next and he drew a walk.
Josh Hamilton then stroked a single resulting in a run.  Albert Pujols came
up and he ripped a base-knock making Los Angeles(AL) the winners and sending
the 33,216 fans home happy.  Despite losing, Houston out-hit Los Angeles(AL)
16 to 8.  
 
The winning pitcher was Tommy Hanson(1-0) who allowed 1 run in 1 and 1/3
innings. Josh Fields(0-3) was tagged with the loss in relief.
