Alfonso Soriano had 4 hits and 5 RBI as the Chicago (NL) Cubs topped the
Pittsburgh Pirates by a score of 12 to 7 at PNC Park.

Soriano had a good day at the plate. He doubled scoring a run in the 2nd
inning, doubled scoring two baserunners in the 4th inning, doubled which was
good for two runs in the 5th inning and doubled in the 9th inning.
Pittsburgh threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.

Ted Lilly(2-4) went 8 innings allowing 5 runs for the victory. Phil
Dumatrait(3-1) was the losing pitcher. He was touched for 12 hits and 4
walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.
