Center fielder Chris Young rocketed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Joe Saunders
tossed a complete game as the Arizona ballclub defeated the San Diego Padres
by a score of 9 to 3 at Petco Park.

Young provided the offensive punch. He doubled in the 1st inning, ripped a
solo home run in the 3rd inning, lifted one out of the park for a two run
home run in the 7th inning and laced a base-knock in the 9th inning. Arizona
managed 13 hits in their victory.

The win was credited to Saunders(1-0) who went the whole way allowing 3 runs.
Clayton Richard(0-3) was the loser. 'Ahhh, that victory was surely needed.
Man alive, things were getting awfully grim,' noted Craig Lombardi. 'Now, we
need to string a bunch of wins together and turn things around!'
