The Cleveland Indians easily topped the Texas Rangers; the final score was 9
to 3.
 
Cleveland tallied 5 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning when they came up
with 5 base hits.  The highlight belonged to Lou Marson who brought a roar
from the partisan Progressive Field fans when he lofted a three-run bomb.
Cleveland totaled 12 hits on the night.  
 
The win went to Joe Smith(1-0) who allowed no runs in 2 innings. The losing
pitcher was C.J. Wilson(0-1).  He was unable to control the Cleveland offense
and allowed 7 hits and 2 walks in 4 innings.
