Clayton Kershaw delivered 9 solid innings and Juan Rivera had 2 base hits and
2 RBI at Fenway Park as the Los Angeles(NL) Dodgers beat the Boston Redsox 2
to 0.

Los Angeles(NL) brought 2 runs across the plate in the 7th inning when they
came up with 3 base hits. The highlight belonged to Rivera who helped quiet
the crowd when he laced a one-base hit plating two runs. Los Angeles(NL) had
only 6 hits for the game.

Kershaw(1-0) went the distance for the shutout. Josh Beckett(0-1) ended up
with the loss. He pitched 6 innings allowing 3 hits and 3 walks.

When questioned about his counterpart after the game, Beckett was lavish in
his praise, 'It was obvious very early on that we were going to be in for a
long night. Kershaw brought his 'A' game with him - he had good stuff and
was able to spot it perfectly. He probably only made one or two bad pitches
the entire game!
