Clayton Kershaw retired 13 batters on strikeouts and Mark Ellis had 2 base
hits as the Los Angeles(NL) Dodgers defeated the Cincinnati Reds in 12
innings by a score of 2 to 0 at Great American Bpk.
 
The score was a scoreless tie after nine.  Los Angeles(NL) won the hard fought
contest in the 12th inning.  Tony Gwynn Jr led off and started the attack as
he reached on an error.  Ellis was next and he smacked a single.  Sam Lecure
then bounced one in the dirt for a wild pitch.  Chad Billingsley was next to
bat, but he was a strikeout victim.  Dee Gordon came up to bat and banged out
a single.  Matt Kemp was a strikeout victim, unable to help out.  Los
Angeles(NL) out-hit Cincinnati for the game, 9 hits to 5.  
 
The win was credited to Kenley Jansen(1-0) who went 2 innings allowing no
runs. Javy Guerra preserved the game for Jansen, recording his his 2nd save.
Aroldis Chapman(0-1) was tagged with the loss in relief.  He was pinned with
the loss despite not allowing an earned run in his 1 and 2/3 innings of work.
