The game was won by Colorado when they scored a run in the top of the 8th inning. Troy Tulowitzki drew a walk. Young Jr was running on the next pitch and he stole second. Michael Cuddyer then ripped a base-knock. Todd Helton came up and he grounded into a double play. New York (NL) had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short. The win went to Jhoulys Chacin(1-0) who allowed 3 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings. Rex Brothers got the save, his 1st. David Aardsma(0-1) took the loss in relief. He allowed 1 run and no hits without retiring a batter. 'I always am most impressed when a pitcher finds a way to win even without his best stuff,' Walt Weiss said after the game. 'Chacin did not have command of his pitches most of the afternoon, but he proved he really knew how to pitch!'
