Austin Jackson cracked a homer as the Detroit Tigers beat the Cleveland
Indians by a score of 6 to 2.
 
Detroit scored 2 runs in the decisive 5th inning with the help of 3 hits.  The
biggest moment was provided by Gerald Laird who came through for the home
fans when he smacked a single scoring two baserunners.  Detroit ended up with
10 hits for the game while Cleveland had 5.  
 
Justin Verlander(4-0) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 8 and 1/3 innings. The
loss was charged to Justin Masterson(0-2).  He allowed 7 hits and 3 walks in
5 innings.
