The Washington Nationals topped the Chicago (NL) Cubs by the slimmest of margins, 2 to 1. Washington had the winning rally in the bottom of the 8th inning plating 2 runs on 2 hits. Bryce Harper led off and started the rally when he slapped a single. After an out was recorded, Jayson Werth came to the plate and smashed a two-run homer. Washington won despite being out-hit by Chicago (NL) 10 hits to 6. Tanner Roark(2-0) got the win allowing no runs in 1/3 of an inning. Roark got help from Rafael Soriano who earned his 4th save. James Russell(1-1) was hit with the loss in relief.
